British officials accused China of organized cyber-warfare against computer systems of banks and other large corporations located in the United Kingdom. The head of Britain's domestic spy agency MI5, Jonathan Evans, distributed a letter to more than 300 executives and security officers of large banks and major financial institutions. Evans reportedly warned them "of the electronic espionage attack" by "Chinese state organizations." Specifically, companies were warned of risks of the Chinese Army, which is known to use the Internet to steal personal information and other data. Jamie Lynn Spears
Lynne Spears' book may not be completely doomed and it even has a title: Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World. But first her publisher Thomas Nelson released the following statement letting people know Lynne is not writing a parenting “how-to" book: “From the onset, the media have inaccurately reported that Lynne Spears' book is a parenting book. I'm sure this helps fuel tabloid readership, but it is simply not true," said Michael S. Building up: Multi-story projects coming to Tahoe
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is in the midst of updating its code of ordinances and 20-year regional plan. During the process, the agency may revisit height and density requirements. When we passed our last 20-year regional plan, we had a vision for the Tahoe Basin communities and downtown areas, said agency spokesperson Jeff Cowen. And it hasnt been achieved. What we have heard from the developers is that it hasnt been achieved because of restrictions. Current code allows a maximum height of 30 feet, which equates to 2.5 stories, Cowen said. Exceptions to the codes height policy are made for tourist accommodations, recreation facilities and public buildings. In terms of density, no more than 15 units are allowed per acre for multiple-family dwellings, such as apartment buildings, or tourist accommodations with kitchens, such as fractional timeshares, Cowen said.
